Communication Circuits I (3) 5 An introduction to radio frequency communication circuits. Oscillators, modulation, transmitters, receivers, transmission lines, antennas, RF propagation, and RF measuring devices. Three one- hour lectures per week. Prerequisite: EET 221. Design and build a microprocessor based system using assemblers, cross assemblers, emulators, input and output devices, and digital analyzers. Three one-hour lectures per week. Prerequisite: EET 212. Corequisite: EET 232L. 232L. Computer Design I Lab (1) S Laboratory class to support EET 232. Design, construct, and analyze a microprocessor based system. One two-hour lab per week. Introduction to Networking (4) The course will develop an understanding of what is required in terms of both hardware and software to build, install, maintain and support a local area network and will emphasize extensive laboratory applications. This will include the layout, cabling, network cards, card settings, equipment interface, installation of software and troubleshooting. The course will also introduce the student to equipment necessary to monitor and measure signals and patterns. This training will prepare students to take portions of the C.N.E., Certified Network Engineer Exam. Prerequisites: EET 212. 289. Cooperative Work Experience (1-4) A, W, S The student will receive credit for approved electronics industrial experience. Ten hours of work each week is equivalent to one credit hour. Advanced Circuit Analysis (4) A The analysis of electric circuits using differential equations, LaPlace transforms, and Fourier Series. Four one-hour lectures per week. Phase-locked loops, active filters, amplifiers and advanced devices utilizing poles and zeroes, frequency response, transients, and computer simulation Three one-hour lectures per week. Life cycle costing, maintainability, component and system life predictions, environmental stress screening, military standards, and statistics. Two one-hour lectures per week. Prerequisite: EET 232.
