Location: Marriott Allied Health Building, Rm 208 Telephone Contact: Lisa Parris 626-6118 Professors: Michael A. Beard, Roger C. Nichols, Leonard G. Nielsen, Yasmen Simonian Ulinical laboratory scientists perform laboratory tests that contribute to the detection, diagnosis, treatment, and study of disease. At Weber State University the Clinical Laboratory Science programs utilize a ladder concept in curriculum planning. The four year curriculum is divided into two programs. The Clinical Laboratory Technician program comprises the first two years. Students that apply and are accepted into the CLT program may graduate with an associate of applied science degree and are eligible to sit for certification examinations. Students who wish to continue on for a four-year degree must apply and be accepted into the B.S. Clinical Laboratory Scientist program. These students complete the last two years of the curriculum and graduate with a bachelor's degree in Clinical Laboratory Science and are eligible to sit for certification examinations. Admission to Clinical Laboratory Scientist Program Completion of AAS Degree requirements and/or CLT certification. Transfer students must have CLT certification. Qualified students must meet with a CLS faculty advisor and make application complete with a non-refundable $10 fee by June 1 of the year they wish to enter the program. Admission to Clinical Laboratory Technician Program Students must see a CLS counselor, complete the pre-application courses and make application before June 1st of the year they wish to enter the program. There is a non-refundable $10 fee for application. Pre-M ed/Pre-Dent a I/Pre- Vet Clinical Laboratory Science is an alternate approach for obtaining the pre-med, pre-dental, or pre-vet courses while completing a degree in a medically related profession. See a CLS counselor for a specific curriculum designed for specific goals. Clinical Laboratory Scientist (CLS) Major BACHELOR DEGREE (B.S.) » Program Prerequisite: Completion of A.A.S.
