Show General Education tional course in the same language completed in college. Three high school units of one and the same foreign language completed in high school satisfy the language requirement. In a school or department where there is a specific curriculum, the curriculum listed substitutes for the general area requirements. 2. Associate of Applied ScienceA candidate for the Associate of Applied Science must complete the following requirements: 1. A minimum of 93 credit hours. 2. The required courses in his major field, not to exceed 67 credit hours. 3. English 101. 4. One other English course in written or oral communication, specified by the candidate's department curriculum. 5. At least 20 hours from the general education courses listed in the catalog, including at least one course in each of the four areas, Humanities, Life Science, Physical Science, Social Science. The curriculum for the student's major is described in the catalog listing of each department utilizing the Associate of Applied Science Degree. Residence Requirement: A student must have completed a minimum of 30 credits at Weber State College for the title of Associate of Arts, Science, or Applied Science. He must also be registered at the College during at least one quarter following the last commencement prior to his graduation. A student with special problems and a student who needs specific courses for his major field may satisfy the general education requirements by substituting, as an alternate, courses which are approved by the dean of the school and the Graduation Committee. REQUIREMENTS FOR THE CERTIFICATE OF COMPLETION 1. Certificate of Completion in a specific major field: The successful completion of a two-year terminal course as outlined in the catalog and completion of at least 93 credits. 2. Certificate of Completion in General: The completion of 93 credits including the following: English 101, 102, 103 9 credit hours Health Education 100 2 credit hours General Education Minimum of 20 credit hours Physical Education 3 credit hours Residence Requirement: A student must have completed a minimum of 30 credits at Weber State College for a Certificate of Completion. He must also be registered at the College during at least one quarter following the last commencement prior to his graduation. REQUIREMENTS FOR THE CERTIFICATE OF PROFICIENCY Completion of a one-year terminal curriculum as outlined in the catalog, and completion of at least 45 credits of approved college work. Residence Requirement: A student must have completed a minimum of 15 quarter hours of credit at Weber State College for the Certificate of Proficiency. He must also be registered at the College during at last one quarter following the last commencement prior to his graduation.
