Show Administration and Organization Administration and Organization Continuing Education and Summer School, Director of Libraries, Dean of Admissions and Records, Director of Institutional Research, Dean of Students and Assistant Deans. The members of the faculty participate in the formulation of policies through the Academic Council and through committees appointed by this Council. The voting members of the Council are elected by the faculty. The Academic Council operates under the provisions of the Constitution and Bylaws for Faculty Government as adopted by the faculty and approved by the Institutional Council. The Academic Council meets monthly to consider matters pertaining to the instructional program of the College. Student government is organized according to the Constitution of the Associated Students of Weber State College. It functions through a legislative branch, an executive branch, and a judicial branch. The student government formulates measures necessary to implement the provisions of the constitution, such as the management of the student budget, the appointment of committees, the conducting of elections, the initiation of a program of out-of-class activities, and has membership on the Weber State Union Policy Board. The Weber State College Union Policy Board consists of members of the College administration, student government, and alumni. This board establishes policies for the use of the College Union. The Union Director and his staff are responsible for the administration of the Union. An important policy statement regarding academic freedoms, rights and responsibilities of students is contained in a document of this name, which was approved in 1969 by the Student Senate, the faculty Academic Council, and the Board of Trustees of Weber State College. All students are urged to become acquainted with this important statement of principles. Inter-Fraternal Council—The Inter-Fraternal Council which includes the president of each fraternity and sorority supervises and controls all fraternal activities. The Dean of Women and the Assistant Dean of Students are non-voting members of the Council. The social fraternities and sororities of Weber State College are local in nature and not affiliated nationally. The Weber State College Development Fund Board promotes financial support to the College from private sources. Representatives from die College Institutional Council, the Associated Alumni of Weber State College, the Administration, the Faculty and the Community directs the activities of the fund. An Executive 10 Director is appointed by the Development Fund Board to administer the policies of the board. The Weber State College Alumni Association functions through a Board of Directors elected by the members of the Alumni Association. The President of the Association serves as an ex-officio member of the Institutional Council of the College. Advisory committees from the professions, businesses, trades, and industries assist the college in matters pertaining to courses and curricula to meet the needs of businesses, professions, trades, and industries. Each committee is an integral part of the organization of an occupational course or curriculum. |
