Bachelor of Science Requirements—In addition to the re quirements concerning total hours, upper division work, majors minors, residency, and specific courses, a candidate for a Bachelor of Science shall complete, as general education area requirements, at least 40 credit hours in the four areas of Humanities. Life Sciences, Physical Sciences, and Social Sciences. These hours shall be proportioned as follows: at least 9 credit hours in the Humanities; at least 12 credit hours in the Social Sciences; at least 9 credit hours in the Life Sciences; at least 9 credit hours in the Physical Sciences. In addition, women students shall complete one approved course in the Department of Family Life. Second Baccalaureate Degree—A student may qualify foi admission to a second baccalaureate degree following the completion of a first baccalaureate degree at an accredited institution Admission to a second baccalaureate degree program must be approved by the Admissions Committee prior to registration for this program. Application forms for a second baccalaureate degree may be obtained in person or by mail from the Admissions Office. To qualify for the second degree, the student must complete a full yeai of residence and a minimum of 45 credit hours with a grade poinl average of at least 2.0, in addition to whatever requirements he may have completed for the first baccalaureate degree. General Education Area Requirements HUMANITIES AREA The general education area requirements in Humanities may be satisfied by selecting from the following courses. A candidate for the Bachelor of Arts must complete at least 15 hours from at least 4 groups, one of which must be literature A candidate for the Bachelor of Science must complete at least 9 hours from at least 2 groups, one of which must be literature.
