Show Education — Health, Physical Education and Becreation Education — Health, Physical Education and Becreation Foundation courses required for Physical Education majors and recommended for minors in Physical Education, Health Education, and Recreation are: Zoology 20, 21, Psychology 1, Health Education 3, Family Life 6, Speech 1, Library Science 40, Chemistry 5 and Physics 5. Also nine hours of Physical Education activities in six different activities; i.e., swimming, dancing, gymnastics, weight training, individual sports and team sports. Physical Education Major—Forty-five hours of approved courses including the following: 10 hours, Techniques and Materials (including P.E. 105), Rec. 83, P.E. 85, 150, 151, 153, 154, 160, 161, 162, 163, 190, H.E. 110. Emphasis in Health Education, Recreation, Physical Therapy, Dance, Coaching, and Elementary School Physical Education is permitted with the consent of the department. The courses of emphasis are recommended primarily in the area of materials and techniques of the specialized fields. Physical Education Teaching Major and Teaching Minor- same requirements as for the departmental major or minor plus professional education requirements for the secondary school teacher certificate. Minors will be offered in Physical Education, Health Education, and Recreation by fulfilling 25 hours of approved courses as follows: Physical Education Minor—Twenty-five hours of approved courses including Rec. 83, P.E. 161, 162, and 8 hours of Techniques and Materials. Physical Education Minor with Dance Emphasis—Twenty-five hours of approved courses including Rec. 83, P.E. 31, 37, 39, 40, 85, 105, 109, 111, 114, 142, 161. Health Education Teaching Minor—Twenty-five hours approved in advance by the head of the Health Education program which may be selected from the following: H.E. 3, 110, 112, 113; Zoology 20, 30; Psychology 54, 114, 140, 145; Sociology 123, 143; Microbiology 1, 5, 170; Family Life 6. Recreation Minor—Twenty-five hours of approved courses including: 6 hours of recreation activities, Rec. 80, 83, 155, 160, P.E. 31, 88 (W), 89 (M), 105, 106 (M), 107 (W), 108, 154, 157.
