139, 1909 he had been maniger of the old buisnes the last 3 years and I did not desire to be tied up to close March Nothing of importance, worked in the Orchard in part & in the Store some, healt not good, yet att. to all church duties except going to evning meetings in crowded & poorly ventilated rooms. April Att. Conf. largely attended, and very interesting, a heavy frost Killed all the fruit in our orchard & in most of Salt Lake Valey. May passed without importance. June Joseph Kjar quit our Store and my son James took his place on the 8th as Bookkeeper. The smaler Children took the whooping cough. & I too & it was quite hard on me, I was completely give out some time Nov 8th the Summer has pased, no change of importance. Andreas quit work July 8 thus failing to pay The debt. of 100 Dol. I lv. 50.00 & as the burden rested on his sister Alma, I told her that 140 If she got anything she could pay me, if not, then not to worry I should never ask for it. I raised some Plums & Prunes on the Farm, Pd Tithing sold a few. gave some to The poor & had enough for own use, no other fruit except ½ Bush Pears. had some Corn & good Potatoes on the new Land just broke. Aug John was called to go on a mission to the Westren States he accepted the call & prepared to leave in Dec. My healt is & had been very poor. & feel as Though The final call may come anytime, I may & certainly have not done all I could. but feel no regret for what I have done in live, my life & motives have been pure, I have had 2 good wifes, have loved & lost others, but for the childrens sake That you may Know. I will state here That I have never Tempted a Women to unbecoming conduct
