Show Marriott-Slaterville City History February 2016 Marriott-Slaterville Monthly History February 2016 Temperatures in February continued to be cold and then warmed up during the middle of the month. We also endured a two week inversion, which finally cleared up around that time as well. Thankfully we did not have any ongoing problems with inversions this winter because storms came In often enough to keep the air relatively clear. The annual Easter Egg Hunt will be held on Saturday, March 26, 2016 at 10:00 am. Kids ages 1 through 8 are invited to join us at the Slaterville Park where the Easter Bunny will make a special appearance, rain or shine. This event is sponsored by the Les Olson Company and the City. Marriott-Slaterville has a nearly 70% participation rate in the residential solid waste recycling program. The recycling program will be mandatory for all new customers and open to existing residents at any time. However, once you enroll you cannot opt out. The Planning Commission gave preliminary approval for a 7 lot subdivision near 2485 W Pioneer Road. The Commission is currently working on updating subdivision regulations and commercial zone regulations. Planning Commission Meeting - February 16. 2016 Cancelled City Council Meeting - February 18. 2016 Cancelled Bits and Pieces Lila Rose Christensen, daughter of Devin and Melynde Christensen, was born on February 27, 2016. Daphne Zamora was sentenced to 180 days in Jail after pleading guilty to hitting a motorcyclist while driving under the influence and then fleeing the scene. On September 6, 2015 police responded to a hit-and-run crash at 681 5 1900 W in Marriott-Slaterville where a man had suffered injuries after his motorcycle was hit by another vehicle that left the scene, according to a probable cause affidavit. Retired Weber County Sheriff's Sgt. Dave Creager was the victim of the wreck. A new paramedic unit in the Weber Fire District's northwestern coverage area was put into full service by the Weber Fire District on January 11, 2016. County commissioners and firefighters gathered at Weber Fire District's station 61 on Wednesday, February 3'^^ to unveil Rescue 61, their newest paramedic unit. The District has been trying to make the new paramedic unit possible since 2013 and last year was able to secure funding and fulfill the requirements from the Bureau of Emergency Medical Services in order to do so. |
