Show Marriott-Slaterville City History June 2016 Marriott-Slaterville Monthly History June 2016 The weather turned hot early this year for June, creating one of the hottest June months on record. We had very little rainfall in our area. Our annual 4' of July celebration is coming up on Monday, July 4^^ Activities include the Sixteenth Annual Golf Tournament at Ben Lomond Golf Course, a 5K Run/Walk, breakfast sponsored by the LDS Wards, and a parade, lunch and numerous activities at the Marriott Park. UDOT began work on June 3''' to rehabilitate the asphalt on 1-15 between Riverdale and Farr West. They will be removing 1.5 inches of asphalt surface on the freeway and repaving with new asphalt. This project will continue through the fall, with the majority of the work occurring at night. New this year will be the Marriott-Slaterville Farmer's Market. It will be held at the Marriott Park on Saturdays beginning June if ^ through September 29^^^ from 9 am to 1 pm. They will feature locally grown vegetables and other items. Weber County will be administering the 2016 elections this year to be held on Tuesday, June 28^ at the City Offices. Voters can also submit their ballots via mail or in the drop-box located at the City Office. Sierra RV and Diamond Rental recently held grand openings for their new businesses opened in Marriott-Slaterville. Planning Commission Meeting-June 21. 2016 The Oath of Office was administered to Mike Hunsaker, Carl Parker and Kent Schofield, extending their terms to 2018. Public Hearings were held on the following Ordinances: Chapter 15.09-Excavation and Clean Fill Regulations, Chapter 15.16-Outdoor Lighting Standards, Chapter 13.35-Sign Regulations, Chapter 13.01-General Provisions, and Chapter 13.02-Land Use Administration. After taking public comments and discussion amongst Commission members, all of the items were tabled until the next meeting. A site plan for Borrett Animal Hospital located at 1093 W 12'^ St was reviewed by the Commission and it was determined that there are some additional issues pertaining to the parking and curb and gutter which needs to be clarified with the architect. It was tabled until clarifications are received. Citv Council Meeting - June 16. 2016 Mayor Butler presented the amended budget and the new budget for FY 2016-17 for final approval, along with the final budget for the Pioneer Special District. All were adopted unanimously by the Council. |
