Show Marriott-Slaterville City History October 2016 Marriott-Slaterville Monthly History October 2016 We had some decent rainfall this month, but the days continued to be mild, with beautiful fall weather. The annual Halloween Trunk-or-Treat was held at the Slaterville Park on Monday, October The annual Fall Clean-Up was held with dumpsters placed at both the Marriott and Slaterville Parks on October and This complimentary service was provided by the City. The First United Methodist Church and George E. Wahlen Ogden Veterans Home sponsored a Veterans Tribute Run on Saturday, October 8, 2016. The event also included a Chili Cook-off following the Tribute Run, which was held at the Methodist Church located at 1339 W 400 N. A special presentation and Public Hearing was held at the City Council Meeting on October 20, 2016 at 6:30 pm for transportation projects that affect residents and property owners on Pioneer Road, 1200 West and 1700 South. These roads will be relocated and reconstructed in the future. The City Engineer presented the proposed transportation projects and provided information to those in attendance. Planning Commission Meeting - October 18. 2016 Ordinance 2016-10, which amended an accessory building height from 25 feet to 30 feet in an A-1 zone or other zone consisting or 2 acres or more, was approved unanimously by the Planning Commission and forwarded to the City Council recommending approval. Commission members discussed ongoing issues at Sierra RV. Several residents have complained about their bright lights and signage; they have experienced several burglaries, and had problems with semi-trucks parking on their property illegally. Trent said that Sierra RV has reportedly dimmed their lighting by 30%. Mr. Morris told commission members that if they still notice or hear of lighting issues, please let staff know. He will then arrange a follow-up meeting with Sierra RV after observing the situation for a month. City Council Meeting - October 20, 2016 Christ Breinholt and Shane Taggart from the City Engineer's office gave a power point presentation on three transportation projects within the City prior to a Public Hearing on them. The three projects are: 1. 1200 West widening and reconstruction between 900 N and 400 N. 2. Pioneer Road relocation and reconstruction from 3200 W Pioneer Road to approximately 3400 W Pioneer Road, with upgrades to the existing segments of Pioneer Road at these locations. 3. 1700 South widening and reconstruction from the Ogden City limits to 12^'' Street, including a segment of the road to be relocated. |
