Show Marriott-Slaterville City History September 2016 Irrigation water will probably be shut off as soon as October However, our city special district will leave the pressurized secondary water on for residents and business until the water supply is exhausted. Various road projects throughout the city will take place in September, including pothole repairs and line striping in preparation for winter. All city parks will be closed on October 15**^ and winterized. Residents may call 2-1-1 for a free confidential service to help people across the United States find answers and services. This service is available 24-hours. It can also be accessed at 211ut.org. Marriott-Slaterville City does not impose or levy a property tax, so property tax questions should be directed to Weber County. The Weber Fire District will hold their annual Open House on Monday, September 12th at Station 65 located at 7925 E 500 S in Huntsville. The Open House will run from 5:00-8:00 pm. Admission is free and there will be several activities, including a medical helicopter, safety trailer, smoke maze, extrication demos, giant slide, face painting, train ride and opportunities to try on turnout gear. Bits and Pieces Lucy Mae Adams was born on September 9, 2016 to Chance and Aubrey Adams. Ken and Dixie Little celebrated their 50'^ wedding anniversary on August 30, 2016. Thomas Cassidy Middleton, 81, passed away on September 7, 2016. Lori Lee Perkes, 52, passed away on September 15, 2016. Maurine Bernice Parker, 77, passed away on September 15, 2016. A dozen community representatives attended a training organized by the Weber Fire District and the International Association of Firefighters Local 1878. Called Fire Ops 101 Training, participants were put through scenarios involving hazardous materials, structure fires and medical calls. Volunteers included Weber County Commissioner Kerry Gibson, State Rep. Dixon Pitcher and city officials from Hooper, West Haven, Marriott-Slaterville and Farr West. Weber Fire Capt. Christa Horting hopes the event will build awareness with local lawmakers and citizens. |
