Also, garbage rates will increase by .250 to cover inflation. A new monthly fire hydrant fee of .500 for residential and $1 for commercial will be added to the water bill for fire hydrant installation and maintenance. The lack of fire hydrants in Marriott-Slaterville is causing problems for some residents with homeowners insurance, and creates a fire hazard. These fees commence January 1, 2017. Community Awards Each year residents have an opportunity to nominate a person or business in the community for our annual awards. Now is the time to recognize someone for going above and beyond as a neighbor, business, leader, youth, or volunteer. Nominations are now being accepted by the Mayor for the following: ► The Good Neighbor Award — nominate an exemplary neighbor, leader, or business. Elna Lucas Community Culture/History Award - nominate a person who has contributed to our local community history or culture. »• H. Orvil Holley Youth Leadership Award - nominate an outstanding youth. ► Darrell Mecham Community Service Award — nominate an extraordinary volunteer. The deadline for nominations is December 5, 2016. Breakfast with Santa Santa Clause will be visiting Marriott-Slaterville City on Saturday, December 10, 2016, from 9:00 - 11:00 AM at the Senior Center, 1570 West 400 North. Come enjoy breakfast with Santa. Bring a camera! The cost is $3.00 for adults, and $2.00 for children 12 and under. Please RSVP by calling the City Office at 801-627-1919. Winter Weather and Snowplowing No parking on roads during and after snowstonns in order for the snow plows to operate. Weber County plows the most traveled roads first. Subdivisions and lesser traveled roads will be plowed last. Residents and businesses with sidewalks are responsible to remove the snow from the sidewalk within 24-hours after a snowstorm. Please winterize your irrigation systems. 2016 Elections. Weber County administers the 2016 elections. For election questions contact the Weber County Clerk at 801-399-8400. Parks Closing. City parks have been winterized and are closed for reservations until April 15, 2017. Recycling. Marriott-Slaterville residents recycle. November 7"^ and 2P' are recycling weeks. 2-1-1 Get Answers.
