Show Marriott-Slaterville City History October 2016 These projects have been identified as priority projects along the Wasatch Front by the City and the Association of Governments based upon road conditions, safety standards, anticipated future traffic and other related factors. Council approved Ordinance 2016-14 for the Slaterville Commercial Subdivision with 11 lots located at 700 N 2000 W with some stipulations. The Planning Commission previously approved this subdivision on September 20, 2016. Ordinance 2016-09 adopting excavation and clean-fill regulations was approved by the Council. Secondary water was turned off for the year in October and residents were advised to winterize their irrigation systems. City parks closed on October IS''^ and were winterized until next season. Bits and Pieces John "Jack" Lucas, 92, passed away on October 10, 2016. Brad and Amy Fillpot became the parents of a baby boy named Crey Rieo Fillpot on October 24, 2016. Information about various universities was made available to students attending a recent college fair at Venture High School in Marriott-Slaterville. Colleges from all over, such as Weber State University, Colorado State University, University of Utah, Boise State University and others took part in the event. These schools sent their representatives to talk to not only the juniors and seniors, but also sophomores and freshmen. The representatives pitched their schools and found certain majors according to the students' interest. The First United Methodist Church held a Craft Bazaar on Friday and Saturday, October 22"^ The bazaar included a silent auction, food, jewelry, quilts, paintings, craft booths, gifts, pictures with scarecrow, raw honey and bee products, along with face painting and more. The First United Methodist Church in Marriott-Slaterville hosted a Coalition of Religious Communities on Wednesday, October 26^^ Sen. Allen Christensen (Republican, District 19) and his Utah Senate District Democrat challenger Deana Froerer were invited to discuss their positions in regard to CORC's 2017 legislative agenda to decrease child homelessness, expand Medicaid, and otherwise improve life for Utah's poor. CORC is an effort to bring people together from 15 different faith communities to educate about poverty and how to engage decision makers in finding solutions. |
