Show Families Alive Presents CommenT CoP Vol. 20 No. 4 NT NN os | L, WEBER STATE COLLEGE July 1989 Strong Families in Changing Winds “Strong Families in Changing Winds” is the theme for the 10th annual Families Alive Conference set for Sept. 20-22 at Weber State College. The conference will feature educators Dr. Carlfred Broderick, Dr. Randy Chatelain, and Robert Dematteis, columnist Cynthia Parsons, and author Carol Lynn Pearson as keynote speakers with a host of workshops covering such topics as single families, stress, aging, literacy, parenting skills and many other topics. The college will also provide a day-care for a limited number of registrants’ children, ages 2-6, on a first-come, first-served basis. The registration fee is $55 for the entire conference, which includes a luncheon each day. Thursday and Friday single-day-only registration is $45. “This conference is unique in that it focuses on the positive aspect of family functioning. Our emphasis is on sharing practical, usable ideas with individuals, families, teachers, students and professionals who work with families,” said a flyer advertising the conference.
