Wahlen Veterans Tribute Run and Chili Cook-off to be held on October 8, 2016. We hope you, your staff, and residents can participate through the lOK, 5K, or 1 mile walk, or come by to eat chili. The activities will begin at the George E. Wahlen Veterans Home with an opening ceremony. After the run and walk portions of the event, the chili cook-off and other activities will continue at First United Methodist Church in Marriott-Slaterville. This will include presentation of awards, random drawings from sponsor • donations, a bloodmobile from the American Red Cross, and activities for children. During the past eight years, this activity, co-sponsored by First United Methodist Church and the George E. Wahlen Veterans Home, has raised approximately $35,000 for the George E. Wahlen Veterans Home. These I funds have been used to improve the quality of life for residents of the home, to include trips to local restaurants, visits to the aquarium and Museum of Natural History in Salt Lake City, fishing at the North Ogden I Trout Farm, and other activities. Without these funds, these quality of life activities would be significantly diminished. An event flyer and blood donation flyer have been included with this correspondence. We would greatly appreciate your publicizing this to your staff and through any community media means.
