Show Technology — Cosmetology Board Examination at the completion of one year of training. At the completion of this curriculum a Certificate of Proficiency will be awarded. 1. Hair Dressing and Hair Shaping—Sculpture curling, hair cutting. Two lectures and three laboratories. A (5) Lundquist 2. Body Systems—Study of cells, tissues, organs, and all body systems as applied to the cosmetologist. Four lectures. A (4) Beesley 5. Scalp Treatments—Special treatments of the hair shaft and scalp. Two lectures and two laboratories. W (4) Lundquist 6. Anatomy and Physiology—Structures and functions of the body as applied to the cosmetologist. Four lectures. W (4) Beesley 7. Manicuring and Hand and Arm Massage—Care of hands and nails and structure of the nail. Two lectures and three laboratories. W (5) Beesley 8. Hair Coloring—Color application, lightening and toning. S (5) Beesley (Formerly Cosmetology—Skin and Its Appendages) 10. Care of Hair Goods (Wigs, Wiglets, Falls, etc.)- Fitting, cleaning, cutting, setting and styling. Five lecture- laboratories. Chemistry and Electricity—Electrical currents, wall plates and high frequency and their uses as applied to cosmetology; also, the chemistry of cosmetics as needed. Two lectures and two laboratories. Students majoring in Diesel Service and completing the required course of study as indicated in the catalog may graduate with a Certificate of Completion. The student who desires to continue and complete a Bachelor of Science Degree must do so in the Automotive Engineering Technology Department. He should make application with the department chairman, so an interview may be conducted to determine grade point average and a suitable course of study outlined. Additional time will be required to complete a Bachelor of Science Degree from this two-year program because area requirements and related subjects have not been satisfied with this curriculum. 021.
