SERVICES OF THE COLLEGE STUDENT PERSONNEL SERVICES The development and coordination of Student Personnel Services is the responsibility of the Dean of Students. Under his direction needed policies and procedures for student personnel are developed and recommended to the President and the Administrative Council. Wood, Director of Housing; J. Farrell Shepherd, Director of the Weber State College Union and Student Activities; G. Lamont Shupe, Coordinator of Student Activities; Curtis Smout, Coordinator of Student Government; Robert Anderson, Coordinator of Student Loans; Leon H. Blake, Counselor and Foreign Student Advisor; Dan Rhodes, Counselor; Kay Evans, Counselor; Bud Stephenson, Counselor; Wayne J. Flitton, Psychometrist; A. J. Kellogg, Coordinator of High School Relations and Assistant Director of Housing; LaMar Kap, Counselor of Upward Bound; Will Hedrick, Counselor of Upward Bound. COUNSELING AND TESTING CENTER Counseling—The following services are coordinated through the Weber State College Counseling Center: (1) counseling with vocational, educational, and personal problems; (2) testing; (3) occupational information. The objective of the Counseling Center is to assist students in making intelligent decisions regarding their vocational, academic, and personal needs on a short-term basis (about one quarter). The Weber State College Counseling Center does not provide long- term intensive psychotherapy. •< All counselors in the Counseling Center are professionally trained in educational and counseling psychology which enables them to deal with a wide range of vocational, educational, and personal problems. Any student who desires assistance may visit with a counselor prior to his first registration to help him in the choice of a major and in making other educational plans.
