JO ANNE KEEFFER October 3, 2000 Mayor Keith Butler Marriott-Slaterville City Council 1195 West 400 North Marriott-Slaterville, Utah 84404 Dear Mayor and Councilmembers, Due to changing circumstances at the Standard-Examiner as well as in my personal life, I am resigning my position as Marriott-Slaterville correspondent. I have enjoyed getting to know you and your city. Your diligence and commitment to your community impress me, as does your sense of fiscal responsibility. This nation would be blessed if all it's leaders took their stewardships as seriously as you do. Although I grew up in Weber County, I moved away right after high school and spent about 30 years going wherever the Air Force sent my husband. Once he retired and we moved back here, I was an outsider in my own hometown. I applied for this job because I wanted to understand how people in Weber County were thinking. Thank you for giving me a glimpse into the workings of your community. It's helped me feel as if I really do belong back in Utah.
