Show PIONEER CEMETERY DAY SATURDAY- JULY 22, 2000 Announcing the First Annual Pioneer Cemetery Day ! This event will be held each year as part of the Ogden Pioneer Days celebration. It will be scheduled for the Saturday preceding the Sunday Dee Event Fireside. Volunteers can honor Utah pioneer heritage at the resting place of many early settlers. Volunteers will meet at the cemetery to fill in holes where the ground is uneven, straighten sunken grave-stones, trim weeds, record damaged gravestones, and make arrangements for their repair. Ogden City Cemetery will provide the sand/soil to fill in the uneven ground and a lifting tool to level gravestones. Ogden City's budget for cemetery work is not sufficient to maintain the highest standard of care. Volunteering can make a big difference in proper care of the cemetery. PLACE: Ogden City Cemetery Meet at the SW corner of the cemetery at Adams Avenue & 20th St. This year, work will be done on the first three western sections of the cemetery: 1st, 2nd and 3rd Avenues of the cemetery street numbering system.
