For your calendar activities will be as follows: July 2nd - Third Annual Golf Tournament Time: 4:30 Place: Mulligan's Golf Course. Information: Tee time required and entry fee is $8, so contact Danny Brown at 731-4746 for details. July 3rd Dinner and Karaoke Time: Dinner at 7 p.m., Karaoke at 8 p.m. Place: Slaterville Park Cost: $1 per person with pot luck item like salad, dessert or chips; or $3 without (only need one pot luck item per family for reduced cost). July 4th Celebration 8:00 a.m. Breakfast at Slaterville Park and Marriott Park sponsored by wards. 11:00 a.m. PARADE! Starting at 700 South ending at Marriott Park. 12:00 noon the lunch, giant foosball, bingo, water games, big-foot race, golf chipping, softball, candy cannons, kid's games, and activities will begin. Nominal cost may be charged for some games. Food costs as follows: Breakfast: see wards. Lunch: Hamburger and chips $1.50, hot dog and chips $1, soda .500. Checker Tournament Will be held July 4th at Marriott Park after the parade. Prizes will be awarded. For rules or questions contact Gerald Taylor at 731-1601. On July 4th, if you plan to participate in the water events, please wear suitable clothes. Also feel free to bring your softball glove, otherwise come ready to have fun. Contact Jim Ito at 731 -6777 to sign up. You will be furnished with a racquet if you need one. Softball. The city softball tournament will be later this summer. Look for more information to come. BADGER NOTICE Badger sightings have been reported on 700 South and in the Riverside Estates Subdivision in Marriott-Slaterville. Allegedly, the badgers have attacked and in some cases killed domestic pets and poultry. According to the Utah Department of Wildlife Resources (DWR), badgers are protected species and can only be taken if imminently harming a domestic animal or person. The DWR also said that badgers are aggressive animals and should not be taunted or harassed. If you have any problems or questions with a badger, please call Lou Cortiicelli at DWR (540-7957). 185 |
