Show City Council Meeting Agenda Thursday, January 4, 2001, 6:00 p.m., agenda: 1. Call to Order/Pledge of Allegiance/Invocation. 2. Approval of Minutes from December 7, 2000. 3. Election of 2001 Council President and Vice-President. 4. Approval of Mayoral appointments to the planning commission, board of adjustments, and other offices. 5. Presentation of annual independent audit. 6. Set regular council meeting dates and times for 2001, which will be published in the newspaper and elsewhere. 7. Consent agenda regarding allowing small subdivisions and site plans to be approved as recommended by the administrative staff and the planning commission: a. Meyerhoffer Subdivision, at 1300 W. on 200 S. b. Linder Acres Subdivision, at 3900 W. Pioneer Rd. c. Amended Manufacturing Site Plan from Lee Montoya in the Riverside Industrial Park. d. Amended Site Plan by Lytle Signs to move previously approved sign for 12th and 12th Texaco. 8. Discussion/Action on meeting with Mayor Godfrey and the updated draft of Ordinance 2000-26 entitled "Central Weber Sewer Environmental Control Act." 9. Discussion/Action on recommendation to Mayor and Council for Ordinance 2000-23 entitled "Community Forestry and Vegetation" as the tree ordinance for the city, and to provide for community forestry and vegetation control. 10. Discussion/Action on recommendation to Mayor and Council for Ordinance 2000-22 entitled "Architecture, Landscaping, and Screening" implementing development standards, landscaping, earth-tone architectural design, and fencing requirements promoting rural and natural visual aesthetics. 11. Approval of Resolution 2000-A granting appropriation for computer equipment and software. 12. Short reports from city officers. 13. Closed Executive Session to discuss strategy for the purchase of real estate. 14. Adjourn. (Next meeting will be February 1, 2001). Notice: the above agendas are only tentative. Council meetings are scheduled for the 1st and 3rd Thursday at 6:00 PM each month. The Planning Commission meets the 1st and 3rd Tuesday each month at 7:00 PM. Some meetings may be canceled. Anyone wishing to be on the agenda must contact the City Offices by Friday at 2:30 p.m. the week before the meeting. Legacy Highway Meeting. This meeting will be held at the Weber County Commission Chambers, Weber Center, 2380 Washington Blvd., January 3, 2001, at 6:00. Moderate Income Housing Plan. This state required plan was completed and approved last month. Data shows that 42% of the city's housing stock is moderate income housing. Therefore, all requirements are met for this state mandate. City History. Elna Lucas, City Historian, recently completed the first volume of Marriott and Slaterville community history from between 1850-2000. Volume One is nearly 500 pages consisting of early historical accounts, photographs, and news articles. The history is available for your enjoyment at the city office. Thanks Elna! Agricultural Protection Areas. Agricultural protection areas were set up by the legislature to help protect family farms from nuisance lawsuits. Anyone interested in an agricultural protection area is welcome to contact the city office for more information and for any help in the application process. 12th Street Center. Acting on the petition of Cape Construction, the Council gave approval for a retail commercial center, restaurant, and other retail or commercial office space at 1167 West 12th Street. New Business License Ordinance. The Council approved of a new business license ordinance and fee schedule. All business license fees will be based upon the service provided to each business.
