Creamer in Marriott-Slaterville. that had survived on the canal bank for at least two decades. "Thank God we've got son-in-laws," she said. "They'll be out here with their saws tomorrow and their tractors to pull (the trees) out of the ditch." She said there's no way to save the trees, but she's hoping to replace the canal bank. The trees will be chopped up and taken to a nearby plant that uses the wood for compost, Creamer said. The wind was part of widespread gusty, erratic winds clocked at more than 50 mph that accompanied thunderstorms during the night, said Wayne Brady, a meteorologist for the National Weather Service. A cold front followed the thunderstorms causing people to break out their medium-weight jackets and sweaters when temperatures lingered in the 50s. Brady said there is also a slight chance of snow today above 5,700 feet in the Wasatch Mountains. 78
