Duncan Murray has been the administrator for the city since it was first incorporated. Duncan has now moved on to pursue another career in investment and financing. I thank him for his service to the community in helping Marriott-Slaterville become townships and incorporate together as a municipality. I am pleased to announce that I have asked resident Becky Burt to be the new City Recorder. Becky has 18 years of experience with North Ogden and will now work in the city where she lives. I asked Bill Morris to fill the position of administrator and work with the justice court as well. I also asked Randy Phipps to be the new planning director. I look forward to working with our new staff as I hope you do to. Also, the time has again come for the annual budget. The budget year for municipalities in Utah is July 1 - June 30 each year. I had my staff include in this newsletter a short table summarizing our community's projected revenue and expenditures. Again, I am pleased to announce that there will be no city property tax for our third years after incorporation. Please feel free to attend the budget hearing at the next council meeting to hear a full report. I thank each of you for helping our community work hard to avoid tax increases and improve local government.
