MARRIOTT-SLATERVILLE CITY HISTORY FEBRUARY 2001 The general plan review sessions have been completed. The results can be reviewed at the City office. Only amendments for specific areas in the plan may be filed annually. The next review for the entire general plan will be in 2006. A Legacy Highway Meeting was held on February 28, 2001, from 5 to 8 p.m. at the Hooper Elementary School. The transportation corridor alignment and impacts were discussed. No definitive answers came from the meeting, although UDOT still sees the power line corridor as the prime location for the highway. City residents were encouraged to participate in collecting goods for the Utah Foster Care Foundation. Items collected will be given to children removed from abusive homes and placed into foster care, to insure the child has something of his/her own to take with them to the new home. Bits and Pieces Tenille Howe was named Athlete of the Week in Weber State University publication The Signpost, dated February 14, 2001. She tied for fifth in the Lady Aztec Invitational golf tournament, leading the University's women's golf team. Kent Meyerhoffer received an award of appreciation for his many years of activity in the Scouting program. Billy Green won the state wrestling championship title for the 275 pound class. Cambrie Sue Stanger, daughter of Don and Jeri Sue Stanger was born on February 22, 2001. 139
