Show September 7, 2001 Trees taken by storm 50 mph winds, thunderstorms rip Top of Utah By VICKY CAMPBELL_ Standard-Examiner staff MARRIOTT-SLATERVILLE -More than two dozen well-established trees were toppled in a storm, taking the canal bank they were rooted in with them. High winds that sounded like a fleet of low-flying airplanes directly over her house sent Marian Creamer outside at 1 a.m. Thursday to see what was happening. She said she looked around the outside of her house, but didn't see anything wrong. "I thought, ah, we're safe, and then to see this...," she said pointing to her uprooted trees along a canal in the field behind her home that afternoon. "It must have had a good time coming through here," she said of the wind. The wind toppled Box Elder and Russian Olive trees 77 |
