Show The Pioneer Post Volume II Issue 9 Marriott-Slaterville City Newsletter September 2000 1195 West 400 North, MSC, UT 84404 (627-1919, Fax 627-1880) MESSAGE FROM THE MAYOR As of 9/1/2000, we received our last sales tax revenue from the State for the 7/1/99 to 6/30/00 fiscal budget year (this is with the normal lag time). Upon receipt of these funds we were able to close out this first budget year. I am very pleased to report that we were able to pay all our bills, and carry over in excess of $150,000 for roads, municipal fund, other budgeted funds, plus some in a rainy day fund. Partly, because of the light winter, we were able to carry over $73,000.00 just in road funds. We accomplished this with no municipal property tax on our citizens, because of a lot of hard work and volunteer man-hours. I thank everyone for all their efforts this year, and continue my pledge of "if we dont need it, we wont buy it" as long as I am mayor. However, we always must be mindful that by living on sales tax we are at the mercy of the economy.
