The 2001 municipal elections were held on November 6, 2001. The Elections were a great success Marriott-Slaterville City had nearly a 20% turn out from our voters. All incumbents were unopposed and were reelected for a four year term as follows: Mayor Keith H. Butler, Council Member Delbert Hodson and Council Member Kim Slater. Thanks to all of you who came out and voted and showed support for our wonderful community. Roaming Dogs Wander the Roads. Several elderly residents have informed their council representative that they have been accosted by dogs as they walk along the roads in the community. Fortunately, the dogs thus far have been friendly, but to an elderly resident an approaching large dog can give quite a scare. Please watch you dogs so neighbors can peacefully walk the roads in the community. Senior Volunteer Program. Debbie DeVries is asking residents ages 55 and older interested in volunteering for community service projects to contact RSVP at 625-3782 or 625-3777 to sign up. Monthly Volunteer Award. Shauna Meyerhoffer received the Mayor's Volunteer Service Award for the month of October 2001. Governor's Award in the Humanities. Elna Lucas was presented with the 2001 Governor's Award in the Humanities at a reception and dinner in Salt Lake City last month. Elna was selected by the Utah Humanities Council from nominations across the state for her efforts in compiling a community history for Marriott-Slaterville. A Time to be Thankful.
