Show MACHINE TOOL This curriculum is offered to students who are seeking, as an occupational objective, jobs in the metal machining and related occupations. It is the intent of the program to prepare students for entrance into the specific occupations of machine tool operator, machinist, maintenance machinist, machine set-up operator, tool and die builder, and numerical control machine tool operator and programmer. Upon completion of the first year program, the student will receive an Institutional Certificate. Students completing the second year of the program will be given an Institutional Diploma. If the General Education requirements are also met the student will receive an Associate of Applied Science degree. Certificates of Proficiency may be issued on attainment of other previously agreed upon skills levels. Machine Tool Program: Machine Tool—Associate of Applied Science 1. General Requirements: A. A minimum of 107 credit hours. B. Minimum of 67 credit hours in major field. C. English 101 (3) and English 102 (3) or Communication 102 (3), or English 210 (3). D. At least 20 hours of General Education with at least one course in each of the four areas: Humanities HU, Natural Science NS, Social Science SS; and Personal Development PD. E. An overall GPA of 2.00 with a C or better in major courses. II. Specific Requirements: A. Machine Tool courses required (60 credit hour): 100, 101, 102, 103, 104, 105, 200, 201, 202, 203, 204, 205 (5 credit hours each). B. Technical Courses required (15 credit hours): RELTE 101 (4); ENGRG 115 (3), 245 (3); WELDG 165 (2); MFENT 132 (3). C. Support courses required (4 credit hours): COMIS PD101 (4). D. Electives: RELTE 113 (5), 114 (5), 115 (5); MFENT 246 (3). Program: Machine Tool — Institutional Certificate, Machine Tool Operator General I. General Requirements: A. A minimum of 54 credit hours with an overall GPA of 2.00. B. English 101 (3). II. Specific Requirements (minimum of 30 hours): A. Machine Tool courses required: MCHTL 100 (5), 101 (5), 102 (5), 103 (5), 104 (5), 105 (5). B. Support courses required: RELTE 101 (4); ENGRG 115 (3), 117 (3); WELDG 165 (2); MFENT 236 (5). D. Electives (4-8 credits): RELTE 113, 114, 115 or ENGTC 236. 402 Program: Machine Tool —Institutional Diploma, Machine Tool Technology I. General Requirments: A.
