Show Last week the Board of Directors of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce had the pleasure of hearing a report by Walter Rodman, Livestock Superintendent for the #1-A District Agricultural Association. Mr. Rodman stated that San Francisco's Grand National Junior Livestock Exposition is the world's largest Junior Livestock Show of its kind. Ypu can be sure that although Many of us were aware of the stature that has been achieved for the Grand National Junior Livestock Exposition under the leadership of the Directors of the #1-A District and of Nye Wilson and his staff. Would not be good chamber of commerce people if we did not feel proud of this show, just as we are proud, as chamber of commerce people to talk about San Francisco as having the greatest bridges in the word and as being the great business and financial center of the West. Mr. Rodman spoke to us of the need for even greater civic recognition of the importance of the Junior Livestock Exposition, and of the necessity for more wide-spread support of the Show by local firms and community leaders. We of the San Francisco Chamber echo that thinking. Obviously, you by your attendance here today, realize the importance of encouraging the youngsters throughout California who are exhibiting in the show. You know better than I, the personal care, the appreciable expense and the many hours of time that each of these young exhibitors has spent in grooming his livestock for entry in this annual event. It is certainly to the advantage of all of us to give these youngsters such encouragement and incentive as may assure their lasting feeling of friendship and regard for San Francisco. |
