Show 23 it tends to be carried through to completion without regard to the business cycle. If anything, public works may tend to be increased in bad times as a contracyclical device designed to stimulate business and minimize any recession. Residential construction is made up of single family dwellings which are larqely purchased without regard to monetary return, and multi-family dwellings which, for the most part, are rental units from which the owner expects to profit. The demand for residential construction in the long run is related to population growth and family formation, but for any short run period it can be influenced seriously by many other factors. |
