Show Oakland Ad Club -3- June 1, 1955 We are buying ships in Japan, selling iron ore in Germany, Japan, and the United States, building hundreds of miles of highway in Colombia, doing waterfront construction at Guaymas & Mazatlan in Mexico, driving a tunnel in Tasmania, leveling a plant site for General Motors in Australia, where we are also building two large dams, building houses in British Columbia, Richmond, and soon in San Diego, working on a railroad rehabilitation project in Korea, and exporting mahogany from Panama, Domestically we are building the Wanship Dam in Utah, constructing a multi-storied office building in Salt Lake City, a W. T. Grant store in Ogden selling slag for railroad construction on the D. & R. G., and the Union Pacific rehabilitating railroad tunnels for the Western Pacific in California, building a grain elevator at Stockton, a walnut processing plant at Stockton, a hospital at Ukiah, driving mining shafts in Jefferson City, Tennessee, and doing the stripping for iron mines in Utah and a phosphate mine in Montana. We are just getting under way as the sponsor of a joint venture driving five tunnels for the P. G. & E. near Oroville. In the San Francisco Bay Area we have purchased 1,100 acres of tidelands in the City of Alameda. As you probably know from the papers, the electorate recently ratified our contract with the city and upon completion of the dredge which we have under construction by Yuba Manufacturing at Benicia we plan to fill these tidelands and develop them as residential and commercial areas. We are also the owners of some 5,000 acres in the Moraga Valley, and this project is the one which is of special interest to you today. It will be described in more detail by someone better qualified to do so. I hope that I have been able to give you some idea of the scope and the character of our operations.
