The Chamber's work for 1956, broken down a bit further, provides, under developing world commerce, our staging of the Western International Commerce Conference to bring new world trade opportunities to manufacturers and producers of this area...a world-wide direct mail campaign citing the advantages of our port and trading facilities...and furnishing world markets with new information on the port and San Francisco's commercial developments. To increase industry, we will work for more private and naval shipyard contracts... sell more industrialists on locating factories in San Francis and the Bay Region, supplying industrial prospects with convincing data on our area...and constantly work behind the scenes, to strengthen and encourage basic factors necessary for sound industrial development. We will stimulate wholesale trade by goodwill visits and other personal-contact efforts to cement San Francisco's relationships with her trading area...by distributing promotional literature on the city as a resources center, and a place to do business.. by
