Show Suggested Remarks for President Littlefield Welcoming of President Soekarno of Indonesia, San Francisco International Airport Friday morning, X June 1, 1956 Prepared by: Publicity Department Your Excellency, Distinguished Guests, Ladies and Gentlemen: I have been given the honor of introducing the persons at our head table who are privileged to officiate at this most pleasurable welcome to a distinguished and respected visitor. Since it is always frustrating to be addressed by someone whom you think you know and yet can't quite identify in your mind, I shall begin by introducing myself. I am Edmund Littlefield, president of the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce; and I am extremely pleased with the opportunity of presiding at this important occasion. If applause seems natural, permit it.) The handsome, dark-hatred gentleman whom I have deliberately avoided introducing at this stage will be presented to you in a moment, for he is someone special. Meanwhile, I want to say to all of you gathered here this morning that I'm delighted to see such an expression of goodwill and genuine interest, to the leader of one of the world's important Republicsthough small in size, great in heart, accomplishments and aspirations.
