Show Stockholm Chamber of Commerce -2- October 22, 1956 Between Sweden and California exists a mutually beneficial international trade. It is our hope that the trade and cooperation between our two areas will continue to thrive and grow. The Stockholm Chamber of Commerce, the Swedish Chamber of Commerce of the U. S. A., the Swedish Consulate General in San Francisco, and the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce are all dedicated to that objective. Seated at our head table today are representatives of organizations dedicated to Swedish-American trade and friendship. At my extreme left (introduction of head table) * One of the great institutions in California which annually gathers together all of California's ware to promote trade is the California State Fair and Exposition, which is held each September in Sacramento. I would now like to present Dudley T. Fortin, manager of that great exposition. * In introducing the next speaker I find myself filled with a sense of inferiority. Since it was founded, the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce has exerted a powerful and stimulating influence upon the Swedish community. The energy of their president matches that of the Chamber and the country. He is Chairman of the Board of one of Stockholm's largest producers of plastics, fertilizers, and explosives. He occupies a similar position with one of the city's largest daily newspapers and one of its largest breweries. He is a director of the country's largest commercial bank, of the Federation of Swedish Industries, and a former member of the Swedish Parliament. It is now my honor to present to you a man of genuine accomplishments, Dr. Harald Nordenson, president of the Stockholm Chamber of Commerce. |
