7- This is an exciting time to be alive. Opportunity is on every hand. We have heard scientists here of good sense and demonstrated accomplishment tell us of the miracles of the development of a great source of energy small enough to be carried in a suitcase, of airplanes flying at unbelievable altitudes and unbelievable speeds with wings whose temperature is so hot that it would vaporize ordinary metals. Given these challenges and these opportunities, I would like to close this Conference with the words of Sir Winston Churchill uttered in an earlier day: "Do not let us speak of darker days; let us speak rather of sterner days: these are great days - the greatest days our country has ever lived; and we must all thank God that we have been allowed, each of us according to our stations, to play a part in making these days memorable in the history of our race."
