Program: Earth Science Composite Teaching Major — Bachelor Degree I. General Requirements: A. Specific course requirements of the college (see index). General Education requirements for Bachelor Degree. A minor is not required. Earth Science Composite Teaching majors must have a C or better in major courses. Earth Science Composite Teaching majors must achieve an overall 2.50 GPA. 183 total hours are required for this degree. Sixty of the 183 total hours must be upper division (courses numbered 300 and above). Students obtaining an Earth Science Composite Teaching major must satisfy the School of Education Certification Program (see Secondary Education Program). Minimum of 72 credit hours. B. Courses required: Geology 111 (4) and 112 (1), or 101 (5) and 112 (1); 121 (4), 122 (5), 275 (5); 4 credit hours in 295 and/or 495; Geography 113 (4), 305 (4); Physics 101 (5) or 111 (4) and 114 (1); 103 (5); Botany 110 (5), 140 (3); Zoology 160 (5); Chemistry 111 (5); Mathematics 105 (5); and two of the following: Geology 254 (4), 306 (4), 315 (4), 318 (4). C. Courses recommended: Geology 339 (3), 363 (4), 376 (4), 406 (4); Geography 345 (3); Botany 321 (5), 341 (4); Psychology 101 (5). D. Support course required: Communication 102 (3). Program: English and Communication Composite Teaching Major (English Emphasis) —Bachelor Degree I. General Requirements: A. Specific course requirements of the college (see index). B. Bachelor Degree General Education requirements (see index). Psychology 101 (5) in the Social Science area is recommended for English and Communication Composite Teaching majors. C. A minor is not required. D. English and Communication Composite Teaching majors must have a C or better in major courses. E.
