Required Support Courses (10 credit hours): Chfam 101 (3), Mibio 115 (4), Psych 154 (3) or Psych 314 (3). C. Elective Courses: Botany 140 (3), 341 (4); Hlth 111 (1), 270 (3), 345 (3), 386 (2), 480 (2-5); Socly 343 (3); Zooly 201 (5), 230 (5). Program: Physical Education Minor for the Elementary School. I. General Requirements: A. Minors must achieve a GPA of 2.25 or better in minor courses. II. Specific Requirements (24 credit hours minimum): A. Required Courses (18 credit hours): Hlth 200 (3), 300 (3); Phyed 362 (3), 363 (3), 364 (2), 386 (2); Rectn 283 (2). Elective Courses (6 credit hours from the following): B. Phyed 170 (2), 171 (2) , 270 (2), 271 (2), 373 (2). C. Electives in consultation with adviser. Program: Physical Education Minor and Physical Education Teaching Minor I. General Requirements: A. Minors must achieve a GPA of 2.25 or better in minor courses. II. Specific Requirements (25 credit hours with adviser approval): A. Six credit hours from the following: Dance 330 (2), 332 (2); Phyed 310 (2), 311 (2), 313 (2), 314 (2), 320 (2), 321 (1), 322 (1), 323 (1), 324 (2), 325 (1), 331 (2), 333 (2). 240 Program: Recreation Education Minor and Recreation Teaching Minor I. Specific Requirements: A. Minors must achieve a 2.25 GPA or better in minor courses. II. General Requirements: A. Program required: 1. Minimum of 25 credit hours of Recreation courses approved by the coordinator of Recreational Education. 2. Background Knowledge. Students are expected to obtain a background knowledge in leadership, philosophy, programming, and administration. This knowledge may be gained by selecting courses from the following: Recreation 168 (2), 283 (2), 355 (3), 480 (2-5); Physical Education 361 (3); Education 455 (3). 3. Skills (Aquatics, Arts and Crafts, Dance, Drama, Music, nature and Outdoor Education, Sports, Social Activities, Safety and First Aid). A proficiency in the above skills may be achieved by selecting from the following courses: Recreation 280 (3), 360 (2), 361 (3), 362 (2); Dance 330 (2); Education 493 (3); Health Education 200 (3); Music 320 (3); Physical Education 167 (2); Theatre Arts 420 (3). 4. Field Experience.
