The President of the Association serves as an ex-officio member of the Institutional Council of the College Advisory committees from the professions, businesses trades and industries assist the college in matters pertaining to'courses and curricula to meet the needs of businesses, professions trades and industries. Each committee is an integral part of the organization of an occupational course or curriculum. Administration and Organization President's Message The school year 1971-72 will be another of progress in the history of Weber State College. We are living in the most rapidly changing times in the history of the world. This period may be known in history as the revolution of knowledge. These changes present challenges to young people greater than any other generation has faced. They also present great opportunities, probably greater than any generation has faced. Only individuals with high personal training and broad education will be able to succeed in the world of the future. Weber State College welcomes the opportunity to assist young people to prepare themselves for these challenges and opportunities. Weber's faculty will number more than 355 during the year. These faculty members have advanced degrees from the leading universities of this country and several foreign countries. The past success of Weber's graduates attests to the professional competence of the faculty members. They offer to the students high quality educational opportunities and personal assistance. During 1971-72 the $4,000,000 Social Science Building should near completion and the $2,000,000 Education Building also should be nearing completion. These two buildings will provide excellent classroom, laboratory and office space for several departments that have been located in different buildings including some former family residences. The catalog describes the policies of the college and its educational offerings for the year. I trust that those who attend will take full advantage of their opportunities to enable them to live more successfully in our rapidly changing society. William P. Miller President 11 |
