Show Academic Information cannot be given in any course the student has taken as a no-credit or audit course. Credits earned by special examination are not considered part of the resident requirement. A maximum of 25 quarter hours of credit can be acquired by examination. Credit will be given only with approval of the head of the department concerned. The maximum number of credit hours that may be granted at any one sitting is 15 quarter hours, or no more than three examinations at any one sitting. A student may not take examinations in more than one subject at any one sitting. A fee of $9.50 per quarter hour is charged for special examinations; however, a student will not be charged more than $60.00 at any one sitting. Extension or Correspondence Credit—Weber State College may accept 45 hours of extension or correspondence credit toward graduation. Transfer of extension or correspondence credit from other accredited institutions may be accepted as determined by departments. Health Examination—A medical examination is required of every student upon his initial entrance to Weber State College. The student shall have his family physician (M.D.) give the examination and record it on the Weber State College medical examination form, which is mailed to the student at the time his notice of acceptance is mailed. This form must be on file in the Registrar's Office prior to registration. Fees, Deposits and Refunds Minimum tuition fees are established by the State Legislature. The Institutional Council reserves the right to change all fees and charges from time to time without notice if necessary. The following fees are required of all full-time students each quarter. All fees for the quarter are due and payable at the Cashier's Office at the time of registration. The students whose check is dishonored by his bank will be charged $3.00 for handling and may be suspended from school until such time as the check is redeemed. ADDITIONAL FEES Application Evaluation Fee (Non-refundable) $10.00 Special Students (Less than 7 hours)—$9.50 a credit hour, minimum fee, $20.00. Building fee $3.00 per quarter. Lecture fee 50 cents per quarter. Excess Credit—For each excess credit hour $9.50 Students may register for 19 credit hours per quarter without payment of excess registration fees. Audit Courses—These are courses in which no credit is desired. Registration as an auditor is permitted in lecture courses only; no student participation is permitted. Laboratory and activity courses are not considered audit courses. A minimum fee of $10.00 per class or $4.00 per credit hour, whichever is higher, will be charged. Audit courses in Evening School are not permitted. A person taking a course without credit must pay the full fee. Teaching Fee—A charge of $36.00 per student is assessed against education majors during the quarter in which their off- campus teaching occurs. Evening Courses—The charge for each Evening School course is published in the Evening School Schedule. Any Evening School student will be charged a lecture fee of 50 cents a quarter and a building fee of $3.00 a quarter regardless of the number of quarter hours for which he enrolls. 56 57 |
