Included in the program are scheduled visits to all high schools in the state and to selected schools in neighboring states. The purpose of these visits is to help high school students gain an understanding of educational opportunities beyond high school and to provide specific information concerning Weber State College. Also included is the coordination of on-campus tours for interested student groups and other individuals or groups interested in the programs .at Weber State College. STUDENT HOUSING SERVICE On the Weber State College campus there are four residence halls available to students. Living in the residence halls provides an excellent opportunity for students to live, work, and study together. This becomes a vital part of the college experience. Each hall is under the supervision of a Head Resident couple who are well qualified and trained to work with students. The Head Residents are assisted by a Resident Assistant on each floor. Resident Assistants are usually junior and senior students. A student government organization provides for a well balanced educational, cultural, and social program in each hall. Residents must be regularly enrolled full-time Weber State College students. Room assignments are made for the full academic year. For housing information, brochures, and applications, write the Director of Housing, Weber State College, Ogden, Utah. Services of the College STUDENT HOUSING POLICY All single freshmen students (students having 44 credit hours or less at the beginning of Autumn Quarter) under 21 years of age, not living at home, are required to live in college operated residence halls. Freshmen students desiring to commute from their home to Weber State College daily may do so by indicating this desire to the Housing Office PRIOR to registration at the college. Should the students commuting later decide to move to Ogden, they would be required to abide by the policy explained above. In unusual circumstances, the Housing and Food Service Committee may be petitioned in writing by the student or his parents for exception to this policy. Should the Committee's decision be to grant permission to the request, this permission must be received by the student in writing PRIOR to his registration at the college. Any student may apply for permission to live in the residence halls. When applications for admission to residence halls exceed the available facilities, the Director of Housing shall decide which students will be admitted. Inasmuch as Weber State College is concerned about the welfare of students not living at home but living in off-campus facilities, the college may investigate such arrangements.
