Volunteer donate their time to the community and help keep taxes lower, thus saving valuable dollars. WE NEED VOLUNTEERS NOW. The city is growing and so is our duty to help. MSC now owns several parks, a city hall, and a senior center. The city also handles law enforcement advisory, emergency management, planning and zoning, infrastructure, and conducts numerous activities such as the July 4th celebration. Presently, there are dedicated volunteers working in these areas. However, we need more help. The city office needs volunteers to help as receptionists and file clerks. Folks are need to help with our parks committee and volunteers are wanted to help clean and maintain the parks. Our senior center needs volunteers to assist in the functions of the center. The July 4th celebration is getting bigger and so must the staff. Our community does an excellent job in using volunteers in positions that other cities staff with full time professionals. Volunteers should be at least 16 years old, and be willing to put in about 2-4 hours per week. Retired people are also welcome. Those interested must complete an application form, be interviewed for placement, and attend a brief training meeting. Some positions, specifically those who work with youth, require a background check. Those interested in volunteering, please contact the Volunteer Coordinator DeAnn Hufstettler at 731-5129._ PLANNING COMMISSION TUESDAY, JANUARY 17, 2006 - 7:00 P.M. 1.
