Show chapel in London. Pres McKay spoke on London record He at home in Salt Lake. Monday, March 6 Nan dropped glasses of to Dr Neilsons for change & I down town early To Bon Marche for a hat. To hotel & got tickets for Sunday. Got shoes at Swensons. Had lunch at coffee shop. Marie came 6 pm. & we fixed up bills, etc (At 300 to Polk school for rehearsal of a few lines Emily Barton & I am to give in Junior League program Tues eve. Tuesday, March 7 Dee to arrange reservation at Valencia Hotel La Jolla for us next Sunday. Phoned Barbara. They will meet us at San Diego. Mr. Knapp came 2 pm. & we went over Trust agreement. In eve. to Polk school & had small part (Martha Society) in Junior League program. Elizabeth in hospital for operation on foot. Wednesday, March 8 Elizabeth feeling like the morning after but everything OK. I busy with packing preparations. Listened to reading book The Moon by Night by Joy Parker Vivid African picture. Nans pm out. She got home late after a show & some good TV programs on No 7. A quiet eve. alone with Dicks picture Still warm weather. Little snow. Thursday, March 9 Still getting our things together. Nan & I down town 2 pm. Dr. Stagg for feet. Got checks (travelers) at bank. A hat at Wolfres. (All this after lunch at home) Mary Goodman came later pm. & arranged to take care of flowers during our absence. Called at Scotts & got groceries Friday, March 10 Lots of arranging re coming of Nans son Max & wife & Nan went to Salt Lake with Louise to meet Max & wife. She visited with them until 10 pm. I finished the Africa book. Some weak places, but enjoyable on the whole Elizabeth home from hospital feeling OK. Got last of packing done & started new book. George Rogers Clak by John B Nans son Max & wife June came for supper at 5. We had a nice visit. Henry came & agreed to keep an eye on the place. Gary also came Sunday, March 12 Up early, had breakfast & all packed up. Pail Bety & children (4) came at 1100. Stopped at Bettys to leave food from frige. A nice trip to Salt |
