Show Sat. 23 Cont. Got fire place fittings at Lowes & door mat at Home Furn. Co. Also Sunday supplies. A quiet eve. home Sunday 24. Sunday School 10 am. A good dinner at home. A fine day sun out like Summer. To art exhibit at Bertha Eccles Hall 330 with Janet. A good exhibit of the group working with Mr. A nice visit with friends. Helen Stone brot us home. Finished the Jim Fiske book after Nan home at 10. To bed early. Monday 24. President Kennedy addressed United Nations. A good speech, laying down attitude of U.S. re disarmament. Well received. Thrilling to me. Nan & I sorted old papers ready to burn Mr Schow hung flower holders on fireplace (Nan did a big washing). No outing at all. Radio, TV & reading to bed time. Tuesday 26 Sunny weather again Favorable reaction on radio to Pres Kennedys speech. Henry came & took away the papers we had sorted. Curtains hung in downstairs sitting room. Down town Tues 28 Continued. Got shoes & dress for Nan. Exchanged fire screen at Lowes. At home eve with TV & papers. More fine sunshine Wednesday 27 Got our fire screen exchanged this am & placed the last feature in sitting room all done! Nan went out for lunch, leaving a bit for me. She back at 3 & we went downtown. I got shoes at Bon Marche. We took books to North library, talked with Mr. Deamer re new TV. in eve read Book of Mormon on radio also TV. Thursday 28 A little fixing around a.m. To D of UP meeting 130. A good session, nice friends. Diana Thatcher brot me home & started a while for confidential talk Nan out pm Mr Deamer came am & we talked changing radio. In eve took Edith our for supper. Wade provided transportation. Nan home at same time as I. Mr. Schow had to get in kitchen window to let me in p.m. |
