Show Monday 28 Nan & I to Larkins for funeral of Ther DeVries (Margarets husband A rather long funreal. A good crowd of people & a wonderful showering of flowers. Took Edith down to Wrights & then home for lunch Nan did her washing & listened to baseball narrative Its Good to be Alive. Quite a hot day. Our house nice & cool. Elizabeth came late pm to talk over her affairs. Nan & I had checkers before going to bed. Tuesday 29 Alice phoned this am. They are back after their European trip. Mr. Show & a plumber (Butter) to look over proposed remodeling of bath room. (Nans Melba came to visit early on her way to bowling. Callers during the day Michael & Stephen Louise & little Melba & Henry Tues. 29 Cont. Nan & I went out to Elizabeths & got pinches & Alice & Jane visited in eve. Wednesday 30. A fine morning A quiet am Nan out pm. with Janet A tea at Hinckleys home in Eden. A gorgeous house beautifully furnished & appointed. Lots of friends. Home at 4. Laurie took us with Janet. Ella Anderson Thora Brown & sister Mary. Alice with radio & TV eve. Thurs 31 Mr. Schow phoned re proposed change in bathroom to cost 755 I am thinking it over. Mary Wilson & Norma P. came at 1 for a pleasant visit. I in sitting room resting. Henry came & later. Gary He is quitting to go to the U. Nan & I out for a short ride (looking for a house for Edith). Friday Sept 1. I had 2 men come to move furniture preparing for change in bathroom. Hey took some downstairs & got sitting room reconstructed. |
