Show Picture show & instructions about landing in lounge. Nan read Vanity Fair a while Left me to doze & rest while she went up to see the dancing. Very smooth sailing. We got to bed early. Friday 14 Had breakfast served in our room. Just ship riding all day with visits to various interesting points. A good lunch & a nice supper in dining room. The ship crowded just ordinary people Saturday 15 Up early forgot to set watches in night when one hour was lost. This said by the Captain to be the smoothest trip he has ever made on Pacific. Read a while in our room. Had Mike our stewart show us different rooms in ship including the expensive suites. We are well pleased with our own quarters. Sat out on promenade desk & enjoyed the lovely air. Sunday July 16. Got all our things Sunday 16 Cont packed & ready to go early am. Went to church services aboard a nice service by a visiting Episcopal minister. Got some pictures thad had been taken pretty good. Just ship riding & early to bed Monday 17 Got up at 530. All dressed & down to breakfast at 715. A spirit of excitement all over the ship. Almost pandemonium, I thought. waited for Am. Express man. He came, gave each a kiss & a lei & finally guidance to the purser who let us out in the lower plank. Met by an Am. Exp. Man who turned into a guide who put us aboard a fine Chrysler car, which landed us a Royal Hawaiian Hotel A lovely suite with ocean view No 279 the same our home. Went to surf room for supper a mess! A big bath, almost got drowned |
