Show Aug 2 Tuesday. Got busy (very reluctantly) on unpacking. Got pretty well put away by eve. Many calls on phone. Garry worked in garden all day. Neighbors comment on beauty & our lawn & garden. Nan went to make a funeral call. I have 2 new reading books waiting for me & started one. Margaret, Dorothy and Howard came to visit in eve. Very happy reunion. And then to bed. Thursday 3 Lauries birthday I called early to give him good wishes. Nan & I out at 11. Got her rent, went to the bank & got groceries. A very hot day 96 degrees. Home for lunch. Elizabeth called and I gave her souviener gift for her & Don Nan out in later pm. Joe & Rosabelle Jodee & Jane visited in evening Nan home at 9 P.M. Friday 4. Another hot day 96 degrees Nan got busy on washing Many phone interruptions. Timmy Dee came to visit. On the phone I made many arrangements for the coming week. Nan & I to Dr. Olson 2 pm. He is pleased with my condition. Stopped for flowers for Ferns entertainment Marie came at 6. Got accounts balanced & bills paid A very beautiful day Saturday 5 Edith & young Janet came in am. We gave them their souvenirs. Nan working like mad to get the rooms dusted. I reading Readers Digest on machine. Some very interesting articles on current news. Peg & Arch, Meg, Alan, Maren & Anita came in eve. The boys went to the Dulmer & Fernandez prize fight. The former won. We had a nice visit with ice cream to top it off at 1030. A nice day. Sunday 6 Decided to go to Salt Lake this am. A very hot drive ride. At Margarets 1230. Nan to her sisters. I had lunch at Zulas with the family at 2. A nice visit Howard took Margaret & me over to see Annabelle. She was quiet & very bright & understanding. Nan called for me & we came home at 6. Called at Park & Snack & got chicken legs to bring home for supper. Blanche Johnston visited until 10 PM. To bed at 1130 |
