He died June ted Pen Utah. 1994 in Ogden, He was the second of four children born to George Mary Eliza King ; Lee Robinson and : | | : Robinson.: He was edu cated in Kansa City, Missouri. A & resident of Og- 2: den, Utah since ; Jan. 1937 and | an employee of the Union Pacific Railroad until his retirement in July. of 1974. From 1972 until 1993 he operated a shoe shine ™ oo concession with Cellar Barber shop in ie | | Ogden, Utah. On Nov. 25, 1970 he married Peart _Maddox Estes in Las Vegas, Nev. No | | children were born to this union. He was previously married to Harriet Houston. There were two adopted children to this" union. Raymond World -'" War : was a veteran of Il serving from 4942 to 1946 and was an ac- tive member of Pioneer Post 66, of the American Legion. He has been an active member of Embry Chapel AME Church since 1937 and a member of the Church Choir since 1938. He served as a Steward for many years. A Steward Emeritus, a trustee and in many other capacities at 7 the church. Raymond was a member of Mt. Ogden Lodge #20 PHA, Colorado Juris- | as AM _ serving F and diction Worshipful Master in 1977-78. He was also a member of Ben Lomond Consistory #94, Scottish Rights, serving as treasurer and was created a Noble in Kadesia Shrine Temple #135 AEA or-° der in MS in Nov. 1974. He was raised to 33rd degree in May 1979 in Toronto, Canada. He served the Colorado Grand Lodge as Grand Orator for seven years. He was later demitted to | Labbayk Temple of Ogden, Utah. Surviving are his widow, Pear! Robinson of Ogden; two sisters, Mrs. Ruth Reeves of Kansas City, Mo.; Mrs. Ber- tha Oliver, Denver, Colorado; one brother Arnold North of Los Angeles, Calif.. an adopted son Edward Ray Robinson, Ogden, Utah. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. A wiewing will be held Friday June 10, 1994 at 6 to 8 p.m. at Myers Mortuary, 845 Washington Bivd.. Funeral will be Saturday June 11, at 1 p.m. at Embry Chapel AME Church, 264 30th St., Ogden, Utah with the Rev. William E. Scott, Jr. officiating. Interment will be Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch following the funeral, where military honors will be accorded by the VFW | : colorguard. |
