— Obituary of REOLA B. BEAL Reola Bell Beal, our beloved mother, wife, grandmother, sister, aunt, sweetheart and friend passed away peacefully April 15, 1996 of heart failure. She was born July 17, 1938 in Broken Bow, Oklahoma. She was 57 years old. In 1957 Reola moved to Salt lake City and on April 28th, 1958 she married her loving sweetheart Billy Joe Beal Jr. in Ogden, Utah. In 1986 Reola Bell Beal made history in the United States Air Force by becoming the first female African American wage-grade civilian foreman in the U.S. Reola began her prideful civil service career with the Internal Revenue Service in 1968, transferring to Hill Air Force in 1973. Reola graduated from Lockesburg High School in 1957 in Arkansas where she was valedictorian of her senior class. After graduating from high school Reola had two academic scholarships from Arkansas colleges to choose from, but after visiting Utah for the wedding of her brother, Alvin, she knew Utah was to be her new home. She attended Stephen Henegar's Business College in 1957 never losing sight of the importance of an education. - Reola received numerous awards during her civil service career as well as her duties outside of the civil service. She was a strong member of the EEOC, Federal Womens program, NAACP, as well as several other organizations. On January 5, 1995 Reola retired from Hill Air Force Base. Reola lived her daily life ‘praising the greatness of the Lord. She was a very active member of the African Methodist Episcopal Church in Ogden and played a crucial role in organizing many church events especially youth programs. Reola had countless hobbies, and one of her favorites was planting so many different types of flowers in her yard and then giving many of them away after they had blossomed. She was extremely proud of her yard. Reola also loved the frame pictures of her family, a photo album just wasn't enough. Thousands of pictures of her family and friends are collaged in many different types . frames that adorn the walls of her home. . -Reola extended her love in so many ways that are too countless to Sel moana But the love and devotion she had for her. family and God was her primary love. She sacrificed so many things in her life just to make her family comfortable. The lives she touched, changed, and influenced through her unconditional love was that of a true angel. Thank you for being the greatest wife, mother, sister, aunt, and friend, but we all realize that you are an angel borrowed from heaven just to make our lives more spiritual and pleasant. We will miss physically, but you will forever be a part of all of us. Thank you our sweet angel for the wonderful time you spent with us on earth, but we know you are truly home now still watching over us all. Reola is proceeded in death by her father William A. Bell, either Lucy R. Bell, and brother Alvin Bell. Surviving are her husband Billy Joe Beal, of Ogden. Sons, Brad Beal, _ of Salt Lake City, Tracy and Bradiken Beal, both of Ogden. Daughters, Lucy Beal, of San Antonio, TX, and Tena Beal of Ogden. One sister Tina Green, of Ogden, brother, Robert Allen Bell, of Broken Bow, OK, one special aunt, F. L. Richardson of Lockesburg, AR, daughter-in-law, Kathy Beal, of Salt Lake City. _ Also eight grandchildren, Isaac, Nathan, Mishon, Shandice, Joram, Cherish, _ DeVon, Eternity Beal. A host of nieces and nephews and other loving family members and friends. _
