He who possesses a beautiful character is a blessing to all and is worthy of a celebration. The father, the grandfather, the brother, the friend we memorialize today, possessed a beautiful character, a character that blessed the hundred who called him friend and the untold thousand who were inspired and comforted by his aging: In our minds, the highest tribute that we can pay one who blessed us is to love him. Truly, this is the sentiment of all who knew and worked with the gallant and noble gentleman, Mr. Woodrow Flowers, whose life we celebrate today in word and song and in music— the fire of his soul.
