Show OBITUARY Dellie C. Lee, 86, died on Saturday, October 14, 1995, at the Ogden Regional Medical Center. ~ He was born July 6, 1909 in Laurel, Mississippi, a son of Willie Lee and Susie Mickle Lee. He married Maggie Campbell in Mississippi. She died in 1977. On September 10, 1992, he married Dorothy Beal Miller in Ogden. He had been employed as a porter at the Union Pacific Railroad. He served in the U.S. Army during World War I. He had been a former mason. Brother Lee was a member of the New Zion Baptist Church for more than 50 years. Duringthat time he served as adeacon some 46 years. He has served as trustee, Sunday School teacher, and treasurer for more than 15 years. At the time of his death, he was an active deacon, active in the Sunday School and Mission, and was leader of the noon day prayer service which he had led for more than ten years. Brother Lee loved people and took special time out for children. He loved his family, his church, and he truly loved the Lord. He often stated that he loved everybody and through the life that he ~ lived he showed this to be true. In addition to his wife he is survived by two step-sons and one step-daughter, Kurt Lyn Miller, Patrick B. Miller, Ogden; Mrs. Daniel (Shauna) Melvin, Savannah, Georgia; a sister, Susie Lee, Jacksonville, Florida; a host of nieces and nephews. Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 a.m. at New Zion Baptist Church with Reverend George Merritt, Jr. officiating. Interment in Ogden City Cemetery. |
